For her
supporters, the swamping attack came from the pro-Duterte but it is not. If you
precisely explore the timeline of the comments and messages it is not about
just politics but her online presence in general, is improper. Before she left
for Japan she has already engaged herself into crude trolling in every social
media platform not just on political issues but to other sensitive social
issues as well. I have never seen a Pinay candidate where our fellow Filipinos are
very vocal in wishing her to fail.
Her
vulgarity took the limelight and got scrutinized when she started to join the anti-Duterte tirade.
What do you expect when you attract divisiveness and negativity while you claim to
use your title to good cause? Obviously, people will investigate and her
salacity in the closet that was ignored before she got a title and crown was
prudently inspected. Her senseless censures were made public hence the deletion
of all her tweet, I was happy somehow to see her account back to zero tweets to start anew.
But when
she was already in Japan, she couldn’t help herself but become the arrogant she
was, and is always been. She couldn't contain her incivility and insensitivity from infamous topics to delicate and controversial issues. If only she was a commoner and didn’t represent
the country she will just be a regular troll barking and no one will
notice.
November
14, 2017, it was Miss International finals day the Filipino pageant fans
are on their computers watching. I have never seen such vile messages from
a delegate’s countrymen; reading (hate) messages during the live streaming
finale of Miss International makes me sick. Can we blame them? I am not saying
she deserves the hostility, but this is what you’ll get when you sow
discourteous sentiments.
Regardless
of your virtual stroller not liking her personality, she still wears Philippine
sash and I was focus on how she will perform and wishing for a semi-finalist
placement (I got optimistic when I read a night before from Jonas Gaffud post
that she is a contender, HURRAH! She will not go home ‘throwaway’ – sorry the word in use *peace).
I
did hope and wished for her to slap the haters even just a semi-finalist
placement, but she floundered and the gracelessness is extremely obvious while
she walks at the center stage. Where did the months of training go? All we saw
is a girl who didn't PREPARE AT ALL; she did devalue and omitted all the
efforts of her trainers and coaches. Her performance was beyond
underwhelming.
As
a patriotic person, it was a saddening result because she represented the
Philippines not just herself. Her Miss International stint concluded in favor
to those who censure her shenanigans. If only these doubters swamping her with
brutal remarks saw some little humility from her, and that she made a right
effort and commitment to properly represent her country, she wouldn't get
the antipathy which are filing up like a landfill.
I
may not be a Mariel fan but I will always have the utmost respect for her mother
(Sandy Andolong) and father (Christopher De Leon) for they didn’t deserve to be
quizzed as her parents. To Mariel's basher, bash the fruit not the tree, for
the tree bears sweet and ripe fruits and there will always be one unique rotten
one.
With her latest online tirade, Mariel was truly undeserving of a crown and
be an ambassador that promotes unity and camaraderie. Her arrogance is all over
the place being the looser she is, so how much more if she brought back the
Miss International title.
Miss
Indonesia is the new Miss International, congratulations to Queen Kylie for a
wonderful reign and epitomizing us, Filipinos, on the world stage.
