Markus Paterson and Heaven Peralejo may not be officially endorsed as a TV couple 'yet', but this multi-talented duo has a growing following both as a solo artist or as MarkVen.

Lately, Heaven has been doing roles (for some they consider it supporting and small acting gig) that honed her craft as an artist. Now, not just her supporters but also her doubters are praising the growth she exhibited as an artist. Unquestionably this young lady will be getting more projects for her dedication and for her passion in making her craft better with each role given to her. Love her or hate her, but she is here to stay, and we will see more of her together with Markus in the near future. 

Heaven with Janella for Wansapanataym

While Markus is making a name as travel show co-host and busy with his musical gigs, this young lad is slowly honing his capabilities as an actor. Markus is on the right path of being not selective of what to accept either a cameo role or guesting in a TV series (teleserye), these small gigs will definitely groom his potentials as a dramatic actor. Unlike many half-Pinoys, he has the advantage of speaking the Tagalog language very well. It may not be perfect at times but unquestionably far ampler compared to some artist who first joined the local entertainment business who speaks limited Filipino words. 

In no time we will see more of Markus doing guesting and maybe supporting roles that will improve his acting knacks.

Hashtag Member Franco Dies In A Drowning Incident

A member of "It's Showtime" boy group Hashtags drowned in Davao Occidental on Saturday.

Franco Hernandez's death was confirmed by ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe via his talent agency, Cornerstone Entertainment. 

He was said to have been on his way back to the coast of North Lamidan, Don Marcelino town together with his girlfriend and another member of Hashtags Saturday afternoon when a strong wave hit their motorized banca causing him to fall off. 

His body was recovered but he was already unconscious. He was brought to a clinic in the neighboring town of Malita, where he was later on declared dead on arrival.

KissMarc split-up is making a buzz and being promoted (damage control or PR strategy) in certain blogs and the ABS-CBN entertainment site itself. Good and bad, big and small incidents in this time and age are considered equitably making some buzz.

With Kisses and Marco putting an end to their team-up, the questions are being thrown more on Kisses. Even before when she was still a houseguest of the infamous Big Brother house, PBB viewers have observed how she often use to play the “Victim Card” to gain sympathy. Netizens were also quick to observe, where are those people in her private life even before she was a public figure? Instances were during her 18th birthday this year. Even at the party of the most celebrated stars, you can feel the presence of regular people. But with Kisses debut, you can hardly point a private person (classmates and neighbors/childhood friends) present during the grand celebration.

Did Marco genuinely have developed some kind of more than just friends desire or was he just riding the situation for career sake? Is the affection reciprocated? Is ABS-CBN Star Magic to blame for pushing a tandem, which from the very start is doomed to fail? Marco stood frankly with his admiration with Vivoree Esclito, but the poor young man was forced to swallow and ate his words just to be matched with Kisses Delavin.  Everyone is aware that the young lady expressed her fondness to the 15 or 16-year-old Fil-Italian teen.

Star Magic Ball: MarkVen

Heaven, a gorgeous young lady is blessed with an angelic face and her look that night is heavenly. She wore a black-feathered frock from a prêt-à-porter couture line which custom made it for her especially for the ball. It wasn’t a standout among the sophisticated and well-designed sparkly frocks but the silhouette flatter her frame well. She paraded the high slit look with elegance and grace at the red carpet while photographers take their clicks. The black-feathered fabric compliments well with her skin tone. Some correspondents from print and online media notice how comfortable she was the entire night having Markus as her ball date.

Markus Paterson gleam as debonair walking the red carpet in his Cocoy Lizaso black and white ensemble. He looks dashing with this perfectly tailored suit matching with his blissful appearance. Call me bias in writing it but this guy deserve to be recognized as the winner of the night, maybe he just lacks the hype needed to win it.

Style: This couple compliments each other’s style, Markus was a standout but Heaven’s black-feathered number was masked by how chic and sparkly other female celebrities are. They maybe under the radar of some fashion critic but they will never be in worst dress list.

Overall Presence: They are a fresh of breath air to look at. Markus can’t get his eyes off to his ball date. MarkVen is one of the couple that night who sprinkled and attended the ball with contagious bliss and adoring glee.

Star Magic Ball: MayWard

Wow! from being plain ‘probinsiyana’ to attending one of the swankiest events in the entertainment industry. Marydale has come a long way. She paraded the pearl beaded white ball gown by the one and only Mark Bumgarner.  The silhouette of the dress fits her well and is very fitting to the type of frame for girls who are not so blessed with the vavaboom knockers. The let down of this look during that night was her hairstyle and the way she carried herself the entire night. If only her hair was styled differently not that greasy looking  and becoming "mahangin ba sa labas" look at the end of the ball then her Cinderella story was a success.

Calling PR/RM/handlers of Marydale please your client is a star in her own way. Stop the fangirl image instead help her to be classy and how to do interviews in different events. A posh event side interviews are different to TV interviews she’s used to from the few months since she won the reality TV show.

Edward looks dashing in his black tuxedo by Paulo Lazaro. Oh wait… are they trying to pattern him to Enrique? The hairstyle reminds me with one of Enrique’s hairstyle. Edward’s refined charisma always soothes Marydale’s (Maymay) trivial persona. This young lad knows how to handle interview with substance and modishness. The only concern for him is the glow in his face is inconsistent; he always put his game face on while the camera is rolling and fades when the curtain is out.

Style: Without a doubt the white beaded Mark Bumgarner ball gown is one of the best that night, I love how it compliments Maymay’s form but her hairstyle was a let down for me. While Edward looks dashing that night he was lost in an ocean of good-looking chaps whose swag and confidence are exuding.

Overall Presence: They are the most awaited and well-promoted pair to walk the red carpet as first time Star Magic Ball attendee but the enchantment was lost by the hour when more pairs came to socialize and walk the red carpet. Their hype were masked by how enchanting and classy those celebrities who came late after them. Still they look good on photographs being shared by their fandoms on social media.

Star Magic Ball: KissMarc

Kisses look exquisite at first glance watching her in motion but my jaw dropped upon closer look. I certainly agree if some will put her on worst dress of the night and will also agree why she got the best-dress award. Confusing? I am confused too if I like it or not. What I like about this Francis Liberan creation is the exquisite aspects of the fe-brique (I mean fabric), the details and silhouette from the back. Some fashion critics question the length of the gown lower front side cause it ruined a supposed to be a regal frock.

Marco Gallo, is it the Italian genetic or the charismatic smile? This young man looks sharp in motion and in every snap. Undoubtedly one of the few male celebrities that night who can pull off a formal men’s wear with proper swag and confidence. He just needs to tone down a bit on interviews, I know he is young and have a lot to learn but so with many of his age group (Edward, Bailey and more) who speaks with refinement and substance.

Style: Love it or hate it, they won already! Marco is on point and the length of Kisses’ Francis Liberan number is not our (me and my friends, social connections and most of the online blogs) cup of tea.
Overall Presence: Both of them need to tone down their lengthy interviews, the more they speak the substance of their tête-à-tête gets frothier and clingy. What saves them are those smiles that spread love and delight to people around them.

Star Magic Ball: JoshLia

Julia Barretto is showing some skin but in a very chic way. She sparkled from the minute they arrived at the red carpet till the party was over. The silhouette of this Mark Bumgarner frock compliments her well. We all can agree that there is no long description needed for her overall look the entire night but just deific.

Joshua Garcia made a point his presence will be felt on the red carpet and he succeeded flaunting his perfectly tailored number. But sometimes I find him trying so hard and it is becoming clingy. I think we have yet to see a genuine distinctiveness from this fine fella. His team should come up with a signature style just for him.

Style: Among the best of the night, classy and it compliments each other style well.

Overall Presence: JoshLia Compliments each other’s personality and they express themselves in a very chic manner.

Star magic Ball: BaiLona

Majority of netizens is not appreciative of how Ylona was styled at the ball and there are nasty comments about the white tulle and the team behind it. Honestly, my jaw dropped in shocked at first but the more I watch her in motion and some of the snaps that surfaced the night of the ball, I fell in love with it. Remember the saying “It is not about the dress but the one who wears it” that is Ylona Garcia. It is obviously an inspiration from the collection of Giambattista Valli but I get the point of why it was given to Ylona. This girl can parade well anything she wears with the right amount of attitude and fierceness.

Oh, Bailey May have you shred some weight since you had your appointment with your designer? Couldn’t really figure out the fitting or maybe just the design that made it lousy? Good thing you're young and your playfulness made the cut or excuse for it.

Undoubtedly this pair is among those couples that made the night more interesting because of their young spirit. They brought their playfulness and swag from the very time they arrived at the red carpet and interviews.

BaiLona

Style: Not the best or worst, just among the crowd.

Overall Presence: Among the best, contagious bliss and youthfulness.

Star Magic Ball 2017

ABS-CBN and Star Magic did it again!

It was a night of sparkles and class, an event that only ABS-CBN can produce year after year. The 2017 ball may have some disappointments compared to how well-designed, styled and glamorous some celebrities are from previous Star Magic Ball event. This year only few celebrities were a “real” standout, what saves the night was the overflowing class, chemistry, and bliss.

The ballroom hall was showered with contagious genuine chemistry and love from few couples, love teams, and ball dates.

I have stalked Instagram stories and tweeter updates and social media savvy folks are hysterical with protest. I must agree from, couple of night to the best-dressed couple recipients, there are more celebrities who stand out that night.
