TRAIN | Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion

Source: Google/Twitter

What is the Tax Reform Program?

The Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) is the first package of the comprehensive tax reform program (CTRP) envisioned by President Duterte’s administration, which seeks to to correct a number of deficiencies in the tax system to make it simpler, fairer, and more efficient. It also includes mitigating measures that are designed to redistribute some of the gains to the poor.

Through TRAIN, every Filipino contributes in funding more infrastructure and social services to eradicate extreme poverty and reduce inequality towards prosperity for all. TRAIN addresses several weaknesses of the current tax system by lowering and simplifying personal income taxes, simplifying estate and donor’s taxes, expanding the value-added tax (VAT) base, adjusting oil and automobile excise taxes, and introducing excise tax on sugar-sweetened beverages.

"The goal of the first package of the Comprehensive Tax Reform Program (CTRP) or TRAIN is to create a simpler, fair, and more efficient system, as per the constitution, where the rich will have a bigger contribution and the poor will benefit more from the government’s programs and services."

Senator Cayetano's Open Letter to Prejudice Journalism

Senator Cayetano Lambasts ABS-CBN's Consistent Biased Reporting

Here's the complete statement of Senator Alan Peter Cayetano that went viral within minutes.

Dear ABS-CBN,

There you go again. In this news article
all those you mentioned have been discussed, debunked or at least explained.

You know very well that taking someone seriously and taking someone literally are two different things.

President PNoy said if he doesn't finish the train to Cavite he would allow himself to be run over by the train! Did u harp on this or ask if he was believable? Did you call him to task for his statement?

Your management said you were going to be neutral in the last elections yet everyone knows you had your favorites - and yes it showed.

Yes we always take our President seriously but not always literally.
So what's the point of your article?

What's clear is that your timing seems to be perfect, especially when your article comes at the heels of calls from VP Leni to unify the opposition and the calls from Loida Nicholas for the President to resign and for the Vice President to take over.

The coincidence is striking to say the least.

The President is abroad working hard to protect Filipinos working abroad, inviting foreign investments and building relationships. It's an international practice not to hit the President when he is representing the Country abroad, since hitting him means hitting the Country he represents.
Yet you fire away! So May I respectfully ask...

When to believe and not to believe ABS-CBN?

Insta Story: Kylie with The President

Before winning the Miss International title

Her recent Instagram post, a selfie, together with President Rodrigo Duterte is at the Malacañan Palace (People's Palace) for the  tree lighting ceremony.  Her post with the President caused different commentaries mostly from the Anti-Marcos and some Liberal Party apologists.

Does Kylie's caption created the fuzz or this apologists are just puerile pestering their political agenda to the beauty queen's social media? Is comprehension and common sense a luxury for it is rarely utilize? Does the Filipino netizens knows how to separate or classify governmental politics to social events?
